Hi, I am

About Me
I am Shaquilla Harrigan, and I graduated with my Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania in May 2025. My pivotal research, spanning across the United States and Kenya, aims to unravel the complicated tapestry of how education and training organizations create a pipeline of opportunities, the distribution of power among international development workers, and how DEI paradigms in firms shape worker experiences.
Before starting my rigorous journey in graduate school, I built a strong foundation in public service at the Phillips Brooks House Center and was a highly-regarded Princeton in Africa Fellow with AWARD in Nairobi, Kenya. As a proud Harvard University alumna, I graduated with a degree in Social Studies, equivalent to Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at other universities.
Off the academic stage, I embrace a world bursting with creativity. From sewing to embroidery, painting to hand-lettering, and pottery to gymnastics, I am a woman of many magnificent colors, constantly in pursuit of cultivating and expanding my creative spectrum. Join me as I weave my narrative, one insightful study and crafted masterpiece at a time.
Homemade
I carry on my grandmother's legacy and build my community through painting, embroidery, cooking, making functional ceramic ware.
